After the sex driven theme of Madonna's previous album (Erotica) comes a lovely collection called Bedtime Stories. This album shows off Madonna's softer and more romantic side of her character than her previous work This album has had mixed reviews over the years and with 6 Million album sales to date, it isn't one of her best sellers but it is still a worthy purchase. When this album was released in 1994, I thought Madonna was going through a period where she had tried to shock and offend so many people that she became almost invisible for a while, as nothing she could do or say would surpass any of her previous offerings, and a lot of people viewed her as tacky. ‘Bedtime Stories’ is not Madonna’s most popular album, but was described by many at the time of its release (1994) as her best. With 6 million copies sold world wide, it hasn’t come close in sales to such albums as ‘True Blue’ (20m) and the most recent ‘Music’ (12m so far!), but it is definitely worth a listen. Madonna's album "Bedtime Stories". This is a well rounded collection of enjoyable songs to sit back and listen to. Take A Bow has to be one of my favourites on this album. As a long running Madonna fan she always gets my vote as this Queen Of Pop can just do no wrong. The songs are really great to listen to and after a while you'll be singing away to them. This album was released in 1994 and is very different from Madonna's previous albums. It has a very strong R&B theme to it, and it is very slick and moody. She collaborated a lot here with Babyface, and it shows. Survival is a catchy little R&B number, and it is quite obviously about her tough time during the backlash following Erotica/Sex, as she addresses the public. The theme is similar to the much earlier 'Live To Tell' though the styles are obviously worlds apart., this being a dance track of medium pace rather than a ballad.
