Purgatory Afterglow - Edge Of Sanity
Approachable death metal.
Too many weak songs and failed attempts to combine genres.
Crimson Ii - Edge Of Sanity
If you liked the first one, you'll probably enjoy this too.
Re-treads old ground, and doesn't have its predecessor's charm or talent.
Perfect Sym - Fates Warning
Pioneering progressive metal with a distinctive approach.
Too many slow songs try my patience.
Awaken The Guardian (cd+dvd) - Fates Warning
Pioneering progressive metal.
Rather samey.
Northwind - Falconer
More songs, nice dual guitars, continues established sound.
Pretty much the same thing again and again.
Ruun - Enslaved
Effective incorporation of mellow elements into modern black metal.
Songs tend towards similarity.
Where At Night The Wood Grouse Plays - Empyrium
Proves the band's folk talents.
No metal here, which may disappoint fans.
Wintersunset - Empyrium
Epic folk metal.
Slightly overblown and incoherent.
