And here we go with another slice of prime cheese. This is of the aural variety, better for you too, in small doses. Three discs of vintage memories, I have highlighted some choice picks from these 66 songs. Yes, 66. I adore Matthew Wilder's 'Break My Stride' which has a reggae tinged beat and soulful vocals. The song has a really hooky chorus and will make you feel empowered and want to take on the world as the melody lifts at every turn. The camp fun of Sheena's '9 To 5' will have you humming along. We all like a good bit of cheesy pop music every now and then. It brightens our mood and gets us up on a dancefloor. Three discs here of retro sounds, though it might help to be an old timer to recognise some of them on here! All of them pre-date me, but I quite a lot of the tracks strike a chord of familiarity. The Archies' 'Sugar Sugar' is insanely annoying, never have the lyrics matched the mood of the song so well...sickly! On the subject of annoying, Marmalade's 'Ob-La-Di-Ob-La-Di' is one of those 'I've had one too many' tracks, that does not stand up to repeated listening. Drifters turn in ' Kissing In The Back Row' which is more subtle. Some pleasing harmonies ...

This is one of my favourite Disney films, infact it might well have been the very first one that I saw, so it holds a firm place in my heart. This soundtrack CD gathers 21 songs from the movie. 'Colonel Hathi's March' has a militant feel about it, which will make you feel you are about to undergo army training. Deep and resonating voices from the elephants give the track some earthiness, it has some merits, but is not a strong start to the album. Much better is the wonderful 'Bare Necessities' which is delivered by Baloo. It is comedic and lighthearted and the lyrics are actually very insightful.
