2000 was the year that garage really exploded in the UK, and from its general lack of appearance in the upper reaches of the charts of late, it seems - like Britpop did in 1995 - to have peaked, but that doesn't prevent the odd fantastic new tune appearing on the scene. Garage is, in my opinion, one of those genres which people are 100% into or despise everything to do with. Therefore, it's hard to see where this compilation fits in: it's commercial and unmixed, and so may not appear to true garage-heads, and people who dislike garage will equally steer well away. There are 40 tracks, all of an excellent standard. Of course, they are al now old, but this is what I like about the album, these are the soneds that stay as timeless always played in the clubs, even though they have been out in them for a few years. This includes 'Right Before My Eyes' - N'n'G featuring Kallaghan, DJ Dee-Kline - 'I don't Smoke', Doolally - 'Straight From The Heart', Oxide and Neutrino - ' Bound 4 Da Reload' and many many more. The Artful Dodger features a lot on here as well. Its the perfect album to get geared up to go out to, while your grooming yourself or putting on your make up or gel. ...

Being a Garage fan I didn't own any Garage cd's until today, I knew basically what I wanted so I went to town and brought this cd, it's a totally wicked cd and if you like Garage music, then you are guaranteed to love this album. It cost me £15.99 from Virgin and is a double cd. Each cd has 20 tracks of the best Garage tunes around at the moment. Including artists like Dreem Teem, Artful dodger, B15 Project, Craig David, DJ Luck & MC Neat, Truesteppers and many more, it's a very enjoyable listen. I've played it twice already at full blast. (my poor next door neighbour!!). It's great if you're about to go out ...
