Best Gay Pride & CSD Anthems My best friend is a gay man who would be absolutely delighted to be described as, as camp as Butlins. He takes me to some fantastic gay clubs (all of which are fun, friendly and play a range of fabulously cheesy, happy tunes), some memorable Pride marches and generally embraces all things sparkly, camp and fun. So, when he had a birthday recently and I was looking for "stocking fillers" (do you still call them stocking fillers when it isn't Christmas? Well you get the idea!) to supplement his main gift, this album caught my eye. I should have spent more time looking at the track list but was ... Read the complete review

Rating:
This is one of those albums that will lift your spirits and have you raising your hands aloft, celebrating all that is good about life. There are 36 tracks in total spread over two discs. The CD claims it is all about Gay Pride, so let's see if it lives up to the title. The opening song is rather in your face. 'Free, Gay and Happy' is all very positive and vibrant, but the tacky factor is slightly overwhelming and you might not want to play this one more than once, unless you want to start being all preachy about your lifestyle. Products similar to Best Gay Pride & CSD Anthems
Willow - Soundtrack
An elegant and sonically impressive fantasy effort from Horner
Lengthy tracks combined with a lot of mood music may not appeal to all
Underground Network - Anti-Flag
Approachable political punk with some interesting variations.
Nothing too interesting, and not as good as their contemporaries.
Terror Squad - Artillery
Interesting and chaotic technical-thrash metal.
Few songs stand out above the rest.
Pure Chillout (2005)
Dance & Electronic - Chill Out - 2005
Area 54 - Apocrypha
Distinctive heavy metal with a strong bass presence and great vocals.
Oddly, perhaps too great a variety.
End Of The Weakness - Archeon
High quality debut replicating the Children of Bodom sound.
Not as good as the obvious influences.
Daredevil - Soundtrack
Loadsa great rockin tunes, not too heavy. 20 tracks in all.
coupla bad tracks (or at least not to my taste)
Ayreonauts Only - Ayreon
Enjoyable and revealing extras for Ayreon fans, and a chance to sample all the albums together.
Some "alternate versions" are hardly different at all, and mainly act as advertisements.
Artimus Pyledriver - Artimus Pyle
Another entertaining sludge album.
The same as all the rest.
Angels In America - Thomas Newman - Soundtrack
A perfect blend of traditionality with off-beat modernism
Fractured presentation with a couple of disruptive source songs
