Ah, the lovely Bryan Adams. So many hits, so little time. I suppose there’s not much that can be said about this chap that hasn’t already been repeated time and time again, but let’s give it a bash anyway. I was converted to the musical wonder that is Bryan by some friends, when they just happened to put on one of his albums when I was staying with them. The title sums me up really. It is the first line of the first song this "best of" album. "The Best Of Me" is the title and opening track of the album, and is a bit of an anthem to me. I find it hard to express myself sometimes, and find music a good medium to fill gaps my vocabulary may have left. This song follows that line with "I'm looking for that perfect line to let you know you're always on my mind". After some bad times with my husband this was the song I played for him, and although most people define Adams as a rock singer, this song is a ballad written by Adams, and the words are just so apt for my life. Everyone needs a bit of MOR in their music collection, and MOR doesn't come much cheesier (or indeed better...) than Bryan Adams. This album, his second 'Best Of', was released in 1999 to capitalise on the success of his 'On A Day Like Today' album - his career having been given something of a revival thanks to the aid of sometime-Spice Girl Melanie C. 'The Best of Me' by Bryan Adams I purchased my Bryan Adams The Best of Me album about 8 months ago. This album contains great songs. The Tracks 1. The Best Of Me 'When you want it, when you need it, you'll always get the best of me.' This is a great song with great lyrics. 2. This album contains some incredible ballads, classic rock tunes, up-beat up-to-date catchy pop songs, and even a (hidden) dance track.
