Advantages: hmmm the cover
Disadvantages: where do I start
It is perhaps telling that the the best of Sabrina is titled 'Boys Boys Boys' just to remind you of her one big hit. There are fourteen songs on here, though the last four are all remixes of songs which appear earlier on the disc. Get the feeling they needed to bulk it out a bit?
Sabrina's big hit was the summery sounding 'Boys' which did good business in the eighties over Europe. People were lured in by the bouncy melody and Sabrina's equally bouncy, er...personality. 'All Of Me' delivers more of the same formula, cheerful europop with a catchy chorus and enough girly charm to make you want to play it maybe twice.
'Like A YoYo' is quite simply hideous, with tuneless vocals and a less than inspiring chorus in which Sabrina likens her love life to being like a yo yo. Guess what, it's up and down! Oh, the cleverness of the lyrics, Sabrina.
'Sexy Girl' has a very tacky beat and cut up vocals which seems to work well enough, though the tune sounds pretty naff and I would never choose to play it more than once, though there are some engaging synths which crop up. Her vocals suck on this by the way. After 'Sexy Girl' we get 'Funky Girl.' It is amusing that she can be sexy and funky, quite reassuring really. Ghastly chord progression, backing vocals which sound like they are being sung by some kind of swamp creature and a chorus which appears to have made up on the spot.
My final 'tip' is 'Guys and Dolls' which sounds like the theme tune to some kid's game show. Then Sabrina arrives with a keen vocal, trying to energise the song. It is more disposable than Pampers.
On a plus side, check out the front cover guys, phroar! Sabrina in a see through swimming costume (look closely) and wearing very subtle blue eye shadow.
