Solid power metal.
Brings nothing new to the genre.

Return to darker days, with heavier production.
Groove riffs are overly repetitive.

Satisfying and accomplished gothic doom metal.
Takes all its ideas from elsewhere.
Considered Dead - Gorguts
Sophisticated death metal based in the traditional Florida style.
Tends towards similarity.
The Last Supper - Grave Digger
Effective nod to the old school.
Disappointingly retro.
Tunes Of War - Grave Digger
Great concept that doesn't impede superficial enjoyment.
All reminiscent of older material.

Creative and extremely compelling death metal.
Diversity means that listeners may not enjoy everything.
Domus Mundi - Hollenthon
Ambitious mix of styles that work excellently together.
Occasionally fails to cohere.
King Of The Road - Fu Manchu
Instantly memorable guitar riffs comparable to the greats.
Subject matter is narrow-minded to say the least.
Pentagram - Gorgoroth
Classic black metal sound.
A little short.
