Advantages: loads hits
Disadvantages: bland cover
Who cannot fail to find something to love about this best of album from Belinda. The album gathers all of her biggest hits and is a reflective look back at one of pop's most proficient and successful singers from the late eighties and early nineties.
Who is she:
Fomally a member of all girl group The GoGo's, Belinda went solo and found fame straight off.
On this album:
Starting with a bang, her debut number one single was 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth'. An explosive pop number with an anthemic chorus. Belinda is literally on fire in this and it is a track played over in cheesy discos to this day. More of the same shouty winning formula is found in 'Same Thing' and 'Leave A Light On For Me,' both of which allow Belinda to belt out the lyrics with gusto.
Her softer side is captured in 'Circle In The Sand' a charming and understated mid-tempo number. 'I Get Weak' also shows her more tender side coming through and allows Belinda to explore a more sexual tone to her vocals which had not yet been present in her music.
Highlights:
'Summer Rain' captures the mood of summer and wanting love superbly. It will warm the heart and the melody is fresh and vibrant.
Overall:
Very few poor tracks on here, Belinda has a commanding voice and a presence to be reckoned with. This is a very good greatest hits and comes highly recommended
Summary: wonderful
