This is one of the first CDs that i ever owned. After seeing their "Dead in Holywood" video on Kerrang! i found my new second favourite band (The first has always been, and to this day is, Marilyn Manson). Murderdolls have (or had) speed, high pitched screams, entertaining lyrics and the shock effect i love in bands. It's a shame this was their only album, i think they had more to give. This album caused tension between frontman Wednesday 13 and his former band "The frankenstein Drag queens from the planet 13" (FDQ) because many of the songs on this album were written and released as FDQ songs. Their riffs are always similar, they have the same sounding solos in every song, each chorus is repeating the name of the title, (and maybe adding another sentence that has the F word in), they’re Drag Queens, and they don’t give a f*ck. That isn’t the best of it though, the best bit is that they were allowed to make an album of 15 songs (5 extras on the new something or other version I got), and each of these songs carries the “don’t give a f*ck” theme perfectly! With Murderdolls being the side project of members of Slipknot and Static-X, I expected this album to be very heavy, featuring crushing guitar riffs and messed up lyrics. However it's an easy listening album that you couldn't really call metal, but more punk-metal. The lyrics are funny and the riffs light but brilliantly played. It's also surprising that Joey Jordison plays guitars in this band, unlike his trademark drumming as he does in Slipknot. The drumming however could have been taken from Joey playing in Slipknot as it's very heavy in places.
