This was the first solo album from Will Smith after he decided to go in persuit of a career without Jazzy Jeff as an immediate association to him. This doesn't mean that he beefed with Jeff, it was a mutaul decision between the pair. He even produces some of the material for the album, showing that they are still willing t work together. This album produced four singles, of which one was a #1 in this country. Also wo Grammy Award were won from the singles in the LP. It managed to sell well and peaked at #8 in the Billboard Charts, along with 20 million world-wide sales. "Intro" "Y'All Know" **Four ... Read the complete review

Will Smith first solo album on columbia records released back 1997, he released 4 hit singles which all reached the UK Top 3 which helped him snap up 2 grammys for 2 different songs from the same album making him the first artist to do so, total sales have reached over 14 million worldwide making it one of the best selling rap albums of all time. Tracks reviewed. 1. Intro. A simple intro with screaming fans standing outside waiting to see Will Smith and a short snippet from Keith B Real who makes it enjoyable. 2. Y'all Know. A great start for the album, still has that Jazzy Jeff feel to it, a nice flowing beat with a sampled hit to make ... Read the complete review

How big headed is Will Smith? Even if you aren't watching him on TV or video parade himself about, welcoming adoring fans and girlies, you can't escape his arrogance because his lyrics are laced throughout with self-worship. It all makes him seem a bit silly. When the world first began to hear of Will, he was a cheeky little chappy and now he thinks he is the man. Sadly, all this doesn't stop me from liking some of his music. The tracks I like on this album are the truly cheesy, pop tracks as opposed to the more R'n'B tracks that I think will would prefer to be known for. The Album classics include 'Getting Jiggy Wit ... This is the first album from Will Smith since his earlier days in music, and also is his first whilst he is a major celeb. Even so, he's not bowed to pressure for any naff commerical venture, and has created a real treat of an album. The songs present are of extremely high quality, and hardly any part of the whole album will make you skip a track, even the monologue bits! Will Smith always has a welcoming personality and that comes through on the cd also, inviting you to like the music rather than try and jugde it too much. It isn't hardcore gangster rap stuff, and does have a general pop theme throughout, so don't expect Enimem or Dr.Dre type of ... Read the complete review
