Will Smith first solo album on columbia records released back 1997, he released 4 hit singles which all reached the UK Top 3 which helped him snap up 2 grammys for 2 different songs from the same album making him the first artist to do so, total sales have reached over 14 million worldwide making it one of the best selling rap albums of all time.

Tracks reviewed.

1. Intro. A simple intro with screaming fans standing outside waiting to see Will Smith and a short snippet from Keith B Real who makes it enjoyable.

2. Y'all Know. A great start for the album, still has that Jazzy Jeff feel to it, a nice flowing beat with a sampled hit to make the beat, Smith raps about how he is still in music and how popular he has become.

3. Gettin' Jiggy Wit It. Probably his most popular song ever, the famous dance and bright blue tracksuit on the video makes everyone think back to this, this track was also co-written by Nas. This song won Will a Grammy

4. Candy. Features Larry Blackman And Cameo who feature on the chorus and backing throughout, the track is about a girl who Will trys to get with.

5. Chasing Forever. The more romantic kind of song, a slow beat with a nice piano, and another co-written beat from Nas and Stevie Wonder, the song is about will rapping about being with a girl and whats going to happen.

6. Keith B Real I. Interlude of Keith being a reporter and trying to talk to will but ends up getting distarcted by a Jada Pinkett and ends up getting slapped.

7. Dont Say Nothin'. Getting fed up of everyone saying Will cant rap he comes on this track telling everyone how it is with a more anger beat, snippet - "Ya'll dont say nuthin, then i wont"

8. Miami. Another classic that everyone loves and wills fourth single, its all dedicated to miami and what happens when you get out there.

9. Yes Yes Ya'll. Featuring Camp Lo on the chorus, Will reps himself in this with travelling the world and him being noticed, a more laid back beat nothing to powerful.

10. I Loved You. About a girl who ends up cheating on him, a more upbeat hip-hop track, features Ryan Toby and Valvin Roane who sing on the chours and a small part afterwards.

11. Keith B Real II. Keith's second attempt at trying to interview Will who he continues to annoy and gets thrown out by Charlie Mack.

12. Its All Good. Features samples from Celebration and Good Times, A rap about Will living and loving life.

13. Just The Two Of Us. Another released single featuring wills son trey, its about a father and son relationship

14. Keith B Real III. The final interlude from Keith who proposes a business plan to Will about a barbershop/music studio.

15. Big Willie Style. Featuring the late Left Eye who features on the chorus and her own verse, its a great beat with alot put into it, all about hanging out around town.

16. Men In Black. The movie soundtrack winning another Grammy for Will, Featuring Coko on the chorus, its a great beat all round from style to lyrical.

17. Just Cruisin [Remix] [UK Bonus Track]. Much better than the original in my opinion, co-written by Nas, its more melow and slow with Will clearly rapping about cruisin around, features choir style backing vocals from Tichina Arnold.

My final thought.

Its a brilliant first album, as it shows with record sales and being certified 14x platinum is an incredible achievement, compared to his other 3 albums this would be close to being named his best, its worth a listen from any hip-hop fan.
