Advantages: the singles, the title

Disadvantages: pointless ego-centric interludes, unnoticable tunes

After numerous discussions with my friends over who we would have appear in our ideal movie we unwittingly discovered that Will Smith is a God. He’s cool, funny, famous, rich and knows Tatyana Ali, and is the only person alive who can get away with that thing he does with his arms whenever he says ‘jiggy’.

Sacrilege does not come easily, but this album isn’t actually all that good. His style of rap has the sort of mass appeal no other artist has found - the video’s to his songs are lavishly produced epics but other than the songs Mr Smith has released as his singles (Men In Black, Gettin’ Jiggy With It, Cruisin’, Just The Two Of Us and Miami), the rest of the album is lacking quality. The above songs are well produced and genuinely agreeable (though this may be due to over exposure), the other songs are bare and the title track, Big Willie Style is just an amalgamation of his other
works.

He’s undeniably the Prince of Bel Air, but here he is more of a court jester. This is meant in no disrespectful or critical way, it is actually a compliment. Mr Smith is the jester because of his slick rapping style
which never fails to be entertaining. Most of the content is the sort of feel good, lighten up and enjoy yourself tunes that I normally like, but not all work and those interludes are damned annoying.
