Brilliant Era Piece (Billy Elliot - Soundtrack)
Advantages: Town Called Malice - Jam Disadvantages: I Believe - Stephen Gately
If ever there was a soundtrack that fully complemented the film and the era it is set in, then it's Billy Elliot. The haunting presence of T-Rex, The Clash and especially The Jam really give it that late seventies/early eighties feel. The best scene for me is the scene where Billy is so frustrated with life that he simply cannot control his madness and turns it into dance, and if you don't like Town Called Malice by the Jam then you will forever after watching this scene, and that track is worth the purchase alone. The boring Stephen Gately track I Believe is modern and not worthy of inclusion and the CD is good in that it also contains snippets of dialogue from the film in order to provide added context.
