Advantages: one of the most influential jazz albums

Disadvantages: not easy listening!

Bitches brew is a milestone not only in Miles Davisī career, but also in the history of music. After a couple of years experimenting with the possibilities of jazz and electric fusion (started with keyboardist Joe Zawinul), Miles succesfully blended his newfound passion for Stockhausen and the funky sounds of Sly and the Family Stone to create and improvisational tour de force. Another strong point of the album is the sidemen Davis managed to put together: Chick Corea, John McLaughlin, Herbie Hancock and Dave Holland are only part of the all - star lineup that all left their personal touch on the album.

Summary: After the Woodstock festival, Miles Davis recorded one of the touchstones of his career
