I've Heard Things You People Wouldn't Believe ===================================== Blade Runner must have more versions than any other film. So it seems in an attempt to emulate this there have been a quite a few versions of the acclaimed soundtrack too. For me the atmosphere of the movie is made by Vangelis's haunting and beautiful music. Rarely do a films visuals and it's soundtrack go together so perfectly. Vangelis is probably the most famous Greek musician alive, and is almost certainly best known for his song Chariots of Fire from his soundtrack for the film of the same name. His brand of highly melodic and atmospheric ... Read the complete review

Ridley Scott’s 1982 film Blade Runner, despite its contrary popularity, has remained a cult phenomenon to this day, aided by the release of the definitive director’s cut complete with Vangelis’ haunting and brilliant score in clear DVD surround sound. While the film’s Philip K. Dick-adapted story is enjoyable and thought-provoking, the enduring popularity of the film is mostly down to what is often applauded as the most perfect blend of soundtrack and visuals in a motion picture. Finally released in 1994, the original soundtrack of Blade Runner (complete with unused compositions) makes for an engulfing, new age-style musical experience in its own right and ... Without any doubt in my mind or any question, if there is one film that is my overall favourite of all time then it simply has to be Blade Runner. The Definitive Edition released recently on DVD had no less than 5 different versions of the film included, as well as heaps of bonus features and is one of my most prized possessions. This soundtrack album, featuring incidental and background music as created by the artist Vangelis, is another.... I don't know exactly what it is about the film that captivates me so much. Is it the gritty, film-noir sets that summarise a very grim, dark and depressing future for humanity? Is it the gripping story-line that follows a ... Read the complete review

The end credits of 1982s Blade Runner mentioned a forth coming soundtrack release, but those who were keen to get this product actually had to wait 12 years before a CD was available. The CD is also not a true representation of the sound track of the film, though the tracks on the album grew out of the recordings made at the time of the film, they are often in altered form, some had not even featured in the first place. Blade Runner was such a ground breaking film, in its style and depth that something special was needed to capture this atmosphere for the soundtrack and with this in mind, Vangelis was called in. Riding high from his oscar winning score to ... Read the complete review

Blade Runner - Vangelis There are at least three versions of the movie Blade Runner, so it's only right that there should be at least three versions of the soundtrack, I suppose. Vangelis composed and performed the music one hears in the movie, when it came time to release a soundtrack, a version was released credited to the New American Orchestra. The reason for this? I suspect there was some behind the scenes wrangling and disagreements, and the upshot - soundtrack scabs! In 1994 Vangelis released his version of the soundtrack with the comment "Finding myself unable to release these recordings at the time, it is with great ... Read the complete review

Accomplished mix of gothic styles.
Moves away from death metal.
Carpet - Ceremonial Oath
Pleasant lead guitars, and an insight into the early years of melodic death metal.
It's all about the guitars, and even those aren't particularly stunning.
Illadelph Halflife - The Roots
A few bangers
A couple of the track are average
