Advantages: a really good mixture of fast and slow, quality everytime and something you'll never ever get bored of!
Disadvantages: NONE!
If its girl groups R&B style that you like then BLAQUE IVORY are the girls for you! They are three young ladies - Natina Reed, Shamari Fears and Brandi Williams - and their music is so hot! They were discovered by Lisa 'Left Eye'Lopez a few years ago, and she actually featured on their second single 'I Do'. Blaque actually stands for "Believing in Life and A chieving a Quest for Unity in Everything", and their music is just s original as their name. Their first single "808", which was released in 1999 was produced by none other than R-KELLY!! The tune was written by Blaque and it imparts a slow infectious beat with just the right mix of rhythm and rhyme. And it definately gets your body grooving! The second single to be released by Blaque was called 'I Do', and this is one of my favourites on the album. It is quite slow to start, but then funky chorus kicks in and just makes you wanna dance and sing along. Lisa Left Eye Lopez doesn't appear on the album version of this song, only on the video and the single version - but she really adds some great raps to it. The video for this tune is cool too. Some great colours and special effects, with a bit of kung fu in there too! Track 7 - Time after Time - was originally done by Cindy Lauper, and after Blaque have added their amazing vocals and great beats its turned into a great tune. Track 9 - Mind of a King - is a very different sort of dong. I realy dont think Ive heard anything like it before. The vocals are very low, and the lyrics are a bit strange, but its definately worth listening to. Track 11 is another one of my favourites on this album - Release me. Its great to chill to, with a really relaxing chrous, and you really get to hear the amazing vocal talents of the girls on this track. I dont think Blaque Ivory have ever had much recognition in the UK after their debut single '808', s
o I think its about time more people got into them. They have a great website so make sure you check it out.
