Advantages: A number of excellent tracks are contained within this album.

Disadvantages: A few tracks are not so strong as others.

'Bleed American' is the fantastic fourth album from the excellent American rock band that is Jimmy Eat World. The album was released through Dreamworks records in 2001 and consists of eleven tracks. There are a few moments of weakness here, for the most part however the music of Jimmy Eat World is highly impressive here and there are a large number of hugely entertaining tracks contained within this 'Bleed American' album.

For me there are five tracks here that really stand out as the strongest that the band has to offer with this album. Title track 'Bleed American' for one is absolutely brilliant; 'The Middle', 'Sweetness', 'If You Don't, Don't', and 'Get It Faster' are however equally excellent and all of these tracks are well worth listening to. All of the tracks from the band possess magnificently catchy choruses, the tracks are perfect to sing along to and if you love pop punk then these five tracks should most definitely be of great appeal.

'Get It Faster' has always been my absolute favourite from this album, right from the very first time I heard the track it had me hooked and never do I tire of hearing this one. The guitar progresses well here, the drumbeats are strong and the melody is absolutely marvellous. The bands singer Jim Adkins has quite a soft vocal approach, one that works extremely well when combined with the bands magnificent instrumental work and always here the combination play of the two is supreme.

Throughout this album the band shows itself to be exceptional by firing out terrific guitar hooks left, right, and centre; always here the tracks come complete with the most fabulous choruses you're ever likely to hear. There are a few tracks you may wish to skip through, nothing is bad though; it's just that some of the tracks here are better put across than others, something that's true of most bands music really.

The bands sound here switches between pop punk and alternative rock also; it's a fine combination of sound and in the five tracks I've outlined there is just no faulting the music of Jimmy Eat World. 'A Praise Chorus' and 'The Authority Song' are two further tracks from this album release with exceptionally well crafted choruses; the vocal approach is beautiful and instrumentally also all four of the bands musicians just seem to combine together flawlessly.

I feel that this is probably my favourite of all the Jimmy Eat World albums, it's most definitely the one with the most stand out tracks; that's for sure. Definitely give this 'Bleed American' album a listen, particularly if you're a fan of pop punk as I really don't believe you'll be left at all disappointed with what you hear from the band here. Jimmy Eat World is an excellent band and 'Bleed American' is most certainly a terrific album which is well worth a place in your personal music collection.

Summary: 'Bleed American' is a Jimmy Eat World album which is well worth investing in.
