Advantages: It takes you somewhere else

Disadvantages: None

This album is so crafted and cleverly put together it amazes me. I've been a fan for about a year and heard this album first. My mate played me "No Rain" and I couldn't stop listening to it! The album just creates so many images and evokes so many emotions.

The guitar, bass, drums and vocals all fit togther so well. It's one of those albums were everything seems to slot togther as you listen to it. You can tell where it's going but the way in which Shannon Hoon (lead singer) gets there is intreeging.

Hoon's voice is like no other and the singing patterns are so original and unexpected. The album is quite 'rocky' but has elements of jazz, folk, whatever, and theres a nice bit of slide guitar on track three.

This album is the obvious starting point for Blind Melon virgins and follows on to the progressive second and third albums well. Open your mind and bump up your CD collection with this masterpiece.
