2003 was the year that Blink 182 decided to turn all serious. Before this point they had never been anything but an energetic and fun Pop Punk band, but with their self-titled 2003 album they decided they were desperately in need of a change of direction. After the release of their album 'Take Off Your Pants and Jacket' in 2001, band members Tom DeLonge and Travis Barker had gone on to form the band Box Car Racer as a serious side project to Blink 182. In 2002 Travis Barker also laid down the drumbeats for the self-titled Transplants album. Blink 182 was falling apart and something needed to be done in order to keep the band together, and thus this serious album was ... Read the complete review

Well, surprise surprise. I?m back. And I?m bad?at thinking of titles. My God, that was dreadful. Let?s move on before I start making jokes about curtains - it?s safest not to ask. But, more objectively, there is a surprising point about this review; it is the first review on Blink182?s latest album, which was actually released back in the realms of history. The sole reason I haven?t already bored you senseless with my opinions on this album was that I assumed there would be 500 million reviews on it already and one more would hardly be noticed, let alone be useful. This idea wasn?t too far fetched; there ... Read the complete review

Blink-182 is an American pop-punk band who recently reformed in early 2009. They are largely reputed to the best and most successful band of their genre with hits such as "All the Small Things", "What's My Age Again" and "First Date" from their previous albums. Blink-182 released their "last" album in late 2003, and claimed that it had a much more mature, sophisticated feel to it, which is indeed an accurate description of this CD when it is compared with the previous albums recorded by Blink-182. Track listing: 1. Feeling This - (5/5) 2. Obvious - (5/5) 3. I Miss You - (5/5) 4. Violence - ... Read the complete review

This was blink 182's last album they released before they split up, it is one of their best albums and has a more 'serious' approach to it with a much darker sound compared to their previous material. The opening track, feeling this, is such a feel-good song to start the album with. Travis's upbeat drumming and the call and response vocals really give this track the extra energy. This was the first single they released off the album, and it is one of the most popular songs off the album among blink fans. The second track, obvious, is one of the darker sounding songs on the cd. It's a bit slow going at first but becomes really lively to the end. ... Read the complete review

The latest Blink 182 album, barring their greatest hits, came as a bit of a shock to fans but highlights the versatility of the band and their exceptional talent as musicians. The self-titled album is a stunning masterpiece full of far deeper and meaningful songs, in contrast to their earlier, more humourous and immature material, complimented perfectly by unrivalled technical ability. The album consists of 16 great tracks, including a live performance of Anthem Part 2 and a superb mini-booklet (you know the bit that slides in front of the CD case!) containing all the lyrics and a nice little touch detailing the band's thoughts and motivations that led them to ...
