Certainly one of Dylan's best, considered by many hig finest, 'Blood on the Tracks' is a lush collection of delicate affecting love songs that will touch even the coldest soul. Coming from nowhere, the acoustic songs contained within combine to form a beautifully sombre & reflective collection.

There are tinges of regret & sorrow, most tracks form a eulogy to the failure of his marriage the previous year, it proves to be perhaps the most revealing album in Dylan's back catalogue.

Some suggest the alternate takes which subsequently appeared on the 'Bootleg Series' releases are superior to some found here, but I prefer to think that both the official album releases, & the stripped down takes, both work equally well, just phrased from a different point of view.

Other Dylan albums may have proved more influential, but perhaps none are better than this set, it works spectacularly as an ensemble piece, but pretty much everything here is of the highest quality.
