In the past I was a very big fan of Children Of Bodom, but since that days I saw that COB is a band for Metal beginners. I like the band indeed, but I don't really listen to them anymore. Some of their stuff still makes fun when I listen to it from time to time. Anyway I bought their new Album Blooddrunk, just because I wanted to see if they have improved or maybe went back to their roots a little bit, because the previous album was not very good. To answer these questions right here at the beginning: no, they didn't improve their music and they also don't sound like in old days. The whole album doesn't hold something new, it rather just sounds like they ... Read the complete review

Well, upon reading the other reviews on this album, it seems to be getting a very hard time, which is unjustified in my eyes. Now if people are familiar with Children of Bodom already they'll know that the previous album 'Are You Dead Yet?' was a complete change from their previous albums, the older ones were faster more thrashy and his voice was more kind of 'deathy'. Anyway 'AYDY?' changed things about a bit, and they went for a more straightforward rock style, a lot slower, but very heavy, and still has a great voice although it's somewhat more understandable than before. 'Blooddrunk' is in the same vein as 'AYDY?', sticking to the new style. ... Read the complete review

Reviews for this album will be divded between two fans. Kudos from fans sticking for new stuff, the rest for visa versa. It was all predicted way for Children of Bodom since their release of "Hate Crew Deathroll" back in 2003, the album ruthlessly balanced with their early sound and their new sound. Since then, "Are you Dead Yet?" in 2005 had became a low-down for long term COBHC fans, yet putting Alexi land his finns on a global stage with "new audiences", little fringed boys in eyeliner and tight black t shirt., in mix with metalheads trying to forgive the band and trying to accept that the fact, the new Children of Bodom, used ... Rating:
Children of Bodom have reached a new low with their latest studio album, but this won't surprise anyone considering their general sloping trend in recent years from creativity and integrity towards something more suited to the unadventurous tastes of 'Kerrang!' readers. 'Blooddrunk' is an even worse hybrid of melodic death metal and groove metal than its mediocre forebear 'Are You Dead Yet?', and this time there aren't even any nostalgic passages in its favour. Once again, the band perseveres in its attempt to mix the sound of Bodom old and new, but Janne Warman's keyboards have never sounded this insincere and discordant, as the album entirely lacks the sense ... Children of Bodom have been making albums for many years now and there's been some good ones and some bad ones. This one is a good one. The album has 9 tracks and 2 bonus tracks at the end. Blooddrunk is possibly the best track of the album with a great intro and shredding solos. The tracklisting is as followed: 1. Hellhounds on My Trail 2. Blooddrunk 3. Lobodomy 4. One Day You Will Cry 5. Smile Pretty For The Devil 6. Tie My Rope 7. Done With Everything, Die For Nothing 8. Banned From Heaven 9. Roadkill Morning 10. Ghostriders In The Sky (Bonus Track) 11.
