Gene ... more ... and his five member band really rocked out the numbers whether it be the well known Be-Bop-A-Lula and Race With the Devil, the raunchy Woman Love, the humorous Who Slapped John or the more smoothy Ain't She Sweet, the tracks are all pretty short, fast and to the point, they can get a bit repetitive after a while but this is some of the most enjoyable rockabilly you'll find!

I quite like a bit of Elvis but my favourite stuff of his are neither at the top of his career when he's a well known pretty boy nor later when he's a bloated burger eater but my favourite album is the raw sounding Sunshine album. Gene Vincent's best of album - Blue Jean Bop has a similar style to it to my ears. Where as Elvis was generally a bit of a mummy's boy, Gene Vincent and His Blue Caps (a reference to enlisted sailors) were true rebels, Gene Vincent (Vincent Eugene Craddock) was a navy boy with a reputation as a good sailor but a bit of a nuisance on land, with his leg crippled in a motorcycle accident he was forced to turn to music.
