"Born To Sing" was released in 1990 and came as the debut album from the Oakland, California R&B quartet En Vogue. It was the breakthrough for Dawn Robinson, Terry Ellis, Cindy Herron and Maxine Jones as they brought a range of tunes that fitted in with the times when New Jack Swing was prevalent in the R&B world and by this point, the sounds of the eighties slow jams hadn't been altered. 1.
