After going bargain hunting on Monday I found myself in a second ahnd CD/DVD shop called "Missing" (check it out if your ever in Paisley, brilliant wee shop) and found an album by "Boy hits car" for £1. A few years ago I was a WWE fan and found out that Lita's theme tune was done by these guys (the song was called "Lovefuryenergypassion btw, a briliant track, not on this album though), and though i'd try this CD..whats £1 right? I only discovered Boy Hits Car at the start of this year, but ever since they have been one of my favourite bands. I originally heard one of the songs on a free Rock Sound CD, and it was one of those songs that you can just tell that the rest of the album is going to be brilliant! They aren't your typical nu-metal band - while they use heavy guitars and thundering riffs, the vocals are soft and even slightly emo. There are brief moments, which have had some people describe them as hippy-core, and there is that certain feel to them, although they are not drippy or pathetic in any way. Boy hits car what a strange name! Is exactly what I thought when I saw that they were the first band to play on the main stage(on the Sunday)at reading last year. But the name should not but you off as this band are really good. The band have a really strange style it is heavy metal cross indie in a strange kind of way. The good thing about it is that along with all the heavy guitaring and drumming they use a acoustic guitar which sounds brilliant!
