... one side and really get into the message and the story behind the song. 'Pressure' is horrible. It is too in your face, and far too repetitive for me to want to listen to it ever again. I understand that Lewis had a pretty traumatic upbringing, and it appears his anger is being channelled into his music. That is all well and good if the end result affects someone in a positive way, but all this did was make me vow never to waste another of my hard earned pounds buying any of this band's CD's, and plea...more

Crowned Review Break The Cycle - Staind: Get The Vanish Out, This Needs Removing From My Brain! (1535 words)

For as long as there has been music charts, and probably before that, there have always been singers or groups who grab out attention with a knockout song, and then seem to disappear without really managing to live up to the expectations we all have of them. Well for me, Staind are one those groups. They are not one hit wonders, and they have had 3 pretty successful albums, especially in America, but for me, the first single I heard from them, 'Outside', and then the follow up 'It's Been A While' were by far their greatest moments, and nothing they had done since has come close, and I think maybe that is because those songs are nothing like the ...

You would've thought you could tell a lot about a person by what music they listen to, well I tell you it isn't so! I just happen to have a CD by Marilyn Manson but that doesn't mean I'm a suicidal satan worshipper. Why do I tell you that? Well just because I happen to have the latest Staind album doesn't mean I'm depressed as their music. If I tell the truth I hadn't even heard of this lot till a few weeks ago, when 'It's been a while' made its way on to the Radio One playlist. It turned out that they're rather closely related to Limp Bizkits front man Fred Durst, infact he even appears on one of the songs on the ...

Ok, first of all I have to admit that prior to listening to this album I had never heard of 'staind' and had absolutely no idea who they were or what they were about. Primarily what you would call a rock and roll based group, this album was released in August (20th to be exact) amidst little publicity or hype that no doubt limited its success. After listening to the album, I have to admit I did enjoy it, found it to be a rather refreshing change and a solid piece of music work with enough diversity to keep you listening for some time. Featuring 14 rather varied and impressive tracks, the range (in order of appearance on the album) is as ...

great vocals, lotsa aggression Vocals can't always be heard too wellsound levels seem to dropsometimes a bit repetitive

One of the best albums from possibly the most influential band of all time Some of it sounds dated

A lot of great Maiden tracks, Some tracks not previously released live, Amazing crowd response Many tracks have been released on previous live albumsBruce's vocals are clearly sufferingNot the band at their best

Are you having a laugh? Poor and gets worse!

Different from all the Nu-Metal at the moment., Some really good tracks. May not appeal to those into their early stuff.

The cover track is pretty good. The rest of the album is pretty terrible.

Music for almost any occasion Slightly imperfect audibly in places

Puzzle - Biffy Clyro
A brilliant album from start to finish, with all songs sounding like potential singles. The cleaner production may take away the edge people felt Biffy had before.

Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World's End - Soundtrack
More orchestral, more complex, more malleable It's still a Zimmer pop-a-popcorn score, so don't get overly excited

Other Side Of The Mirror - Stevie Nicks
Some great songs, good mix of country inspired rock and electro 90's style of soft rock synth style. Not many; avoid the high prices.
