Advantages: brilliant music, brilliant lyrics, and a fantastic singer too

Disadvantages: one or too tracks i'm not too keen on

Some say she sings like Avril Lavigne and they are pretty much right, especially with the track behind these hazel eyes. I actually thought that it was Avril. And I love Avril’s music. This album has the upbeat pop tunes on, the feel good songs to bring you up when you’re feeling down, and then the slower, sadder, more depressive songs on. This album is something that I have only just brought and I love it to bits. There are a few songs that really stand out to me, but all of these songs are great. I couldn’t believe that it was thanks to American idol that she got realised. And I always promised myself that after hearsay, that I wouldn’t ever listen to or love any sort of reality TV singer. But this one I just happen to have loved her album. This artist is really cool, and her songs are great as well. Since u been gone is a huge hit over here in the UK, and then behind these hazel eyes came along which was fab. Her next one to be released is Because of you. Because of you has to be my favourite, and it’s the most ballad like of the album I think.

Breakaway

This is a beautiful song. A great tempo, a great beat and everything else in this song is wonderful. It’s about stepping out into the world and becoming independent for the first time in your life, setting new adventures and stories in your life.

I'll spread my wings and I'll learn how to fly
I'll do what it takes til' I touch the sky
I'll make a wish
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway
Out of the darkness and into the sun
But I won't forget all the ones that I love
I'll take a risk
Take a chance
Make a change
And breakaway

Since u been gone

This is a break up song I think. It’s all about having a broken relationship in which you were the one that was dumped and you realise that although your heart is still broken, it’s on the mend and you can finally hopefully move on and up. You also realise, how much of a waste of space that person was.

But since you've been gone
I can breathe for the first time
I’m so moving on
Yeah yeah
Thanks to you
Now I get
What I want
Since you've been gone

Behind these hazel eyes

This is one I have listened to quite a lot a while ago. This was her second big hit over here recently in the UK. This reminds me of a cross beteen avril Lavigne with the singing, and if you ever see the video, it reminds me of Christina aguilara;’s fighter video. This is a great song and I love to listen to it full blast on my MP3, as this song is brilliant.

Here I am, once again
I'm torn into pieces
can’t deny it, can't pretend
Just thought you were the one
Broken up, deep inside
But you won't get to see the tears I cry
Behind these hazel eyes

Because of you

This is her next single to be released in the UK. The video is amazing, but I always thought from the song itself, that it was about her father dying, not walking away from her. This one reminds me of my father, and I listen to it lots, so it doesn’t make me sad anymore. I was a little shocked when I first heard this song on the album, thinking it was made for me somehow. This is the slowest, saddest song on the album, and I love this one the best out of all of the songs on this album. This is about how her upbringing by her father has made her not trust anyone properly, not even the love of her life, and this affects her relationship a lot. It causes problems and friction between them and this causes big problems, so she almost loses him. This is such a brilliant song, and I hope it gets to number one.

Because of you
I never stray too far from the sidewalk
Because of you
I learned to play on the safe side so I don't get hurt
Because of you
I find it hard to trust not only me, but everyone around me
Because of you
I am afraid

Gone

This actually suits my mood recently. Having been messed about by a guy a little bit, who I know don’t care about, this has given me a great mood to be into. It’s about a guy who is messing with her head, and then suddenly wants her back. She’s been through this lot of times before with him, but she’s giving him up now. She found the strength to walk away and say goodbye, which I think is great. This is a upbeat song and I love it.

Always ending
Always over
Back and forth, up and down like a rollercoaster
I am breaking
That habit
Today
You know you did it
I'm gone
To find someone to live for
In this world
There's no light at the end of the tunnel tonight
Just a bridge that I gotta burn
You're wrong
If you think you can walk right through my door
That is just so you
Coming back when I've finally moved on
I'm already gone

Addicted

This is about a guy that she can’t seem to stay away from. He’s bad news to her, yet she can’t back down. She is addicted to this guy no matter what he does to her. This is a slower sadder song in my eyes and is a pretty good song to listen to.

It's like I can't breathe
It's like I can't see anything
Nothing but you
I'm addicted to you
It's like I can't think
Without you interrupting me
In my thoughts
In my dreams
You've taken over me
It's like I'm not me

Where is your heart?

This is a more pop-like song on the album I think. I’m not too keen on this song, but I think it’s ok. It’s about her not being able to think that this other guy thinks the same way about her as she thinks about him.

I don't understand
Your love is so cold
It's always me that's reaching out
For your hand
And I've always dreamed
That love would be effortless
Like a petal fallin' to the ground
A dreamer followin' his dream

Walk away

This reminds me a little like a Gwen Stefani or pink for some strange reason. One of those pop yet almost R n B songs. It’s an okay song to listen to. It’s about her wanting different things to another person, and she’s had so much that she just gives in and tells them to go away.

I'm looking for attention
not another question
should you stay or should you go?
Well, if you don't have the answer
why you still standin' here?
Hey, hey, hey, hey
Just walk away

You found me

This reminds me of a Hilary duff song here. It’s a great song. This is about a guy falling in love with her, and she is thinking that love can’t feel that good, and that she loves this feeling. She is happy that this person has found her and fallen in love with her big time, and she never wants this to end. This is a great song

Is this a dream?
If it is
please don't wake me from this high
I've become comfortably numb
until you opened up my eyes
to what it's like
when everything's right

I hate myself for losing you

This is a little more guitar led. This is a good song, and I think that at points, that I really enjoy it. It just depends on what mood I’m in. it’s all about losing someone shes become close to, and then lost him and so she doesn’t really feel that much of a reason for living anymore. I think that the lyrics would be more believable to her if the backing music as even more rock- punk type music, otherwise at points of the song, it seems pretty pathetic.

I woke up today
Woke up wide awake
In an empty bed
Staring at an empty room
I have myself to blame
For the state I'm in today
And now dying
Doesn't seem so cruel

Hear me

This is about her feeling lost in this world, like she doesn’t belong in this life and she is crying out for help in this life. This backing music reminds me a little of an evanescence song. This is a great tempo, beat and rythum. I really enjoy this song. This is a good song when you are feeling lost or down in life.

Hear me
I'm cryin' out
I'm ready now
Turn my world upside down
Find me
I'm lost inside the crowd
It's getting loud
I need you to see

Beautiful disaster (live)

This is a beautiful song, and it’s got wonderful lyrics as well. This guy she thinks is out of her league has suddenly wanted her, and she thinks that he’s after something that she’s unable to give to him. Yet she really likes this guy. This is a great song to sing to for karaoke or just a feel good Friday night.

He's soft to the touch
But afraid at the end he breaks
He's never enough
And still leaves more than I can take
Oh cuz I don't know
I don't know what he's after
But he's so beautiful
Such a beautiful disaster
And if I could hold on
Through the tears and the laughter
Would it be beautiful?
Or just a beautiful disaster

Miss independent (live)

This is a good song, especially after a break up, or when you fall in love after being single for so long. This reminds me of good times while I’m single as well, and how much better it is to be single and having no one to worry about, no one to take control of half of you and no hassles with boyfriends. I love this song; it really is a great song. I have used it many times as my MSN name. the lyrics are fantastic as well.

Miss independent
Miss self-sufficient
Miss keep your distance, no
Miss on her own
Miss almost grown
Miss never let a man help her off her throne
So, by keeping her heart protected
She'd never ever feel rejected
Little miss apprehensive
Said ooh, she fell in love

Low (bonus track)

For some reason, I don’t like this song that much, but most of my friends love it, I love the chorus, it’s the best part of the song, but the rest is just not my type of thing. This song is about people who are low, like her ex boyfriends, her friends who have all betrayed her somehow, and she gets the audience involved by asking them if they have ever been in a situation like that.

Have you ever been low? (Have you ever been?)
Have you ever had a friend that let you down so?
When the truth came out
Were you the last to know?
Were you left out in the cold?
'Cause what you did was low
what you did was low

My conclusion is that this album is great, and I highly recommend it. It’s fantastic and the lyrics are just brilliant. I thin this album is priced around £7.99 in most stores, and if you search around Amazon, it might be cheaper on there. I rate this album a nine out of ten because it is great and she is a fantastic singer.

Thanks for reading
