Advantages: Good songs

Disadvantages: Only 5 tracks

Bullet For My Valentine are a heavy metal band from Bridgend in Wales. Originally conceived by Matt Tuck, Michael Paget, Nick Crandle and Michael Thomas in 1998, under the name Jeff Killed John whilst they were studying at college, the band gigged round the country and were offered record deals from Roadrunner Records and Sony BMG. After changing their name to Bullet For My Valentine, the band released this self titled EP in 2004 and features 5 tracks. The EP starts with Hand of Blood, a fast paced pure metal song complete with good vocals, screaming and tight metal drumming and guitar playing. One of the best tracks on the album in my opinion is the third track "Curses". This song starts with a soft guitar riff with softer vocals than the band is known for. The lyrics are meaningful and the song has a good structure. A third of the way through the song, it becomes more heavier with the drums and distorted guitar coming in, however the vocals remain some of the best on the album.

Summary: A good buy
