Nice soundtrack from the movie burlesque

Burlesque is the soundtrack from the movie of the same name they where both released in 2010 . The album contains 10 tracks that are all featured in the movie. The album features Cher and Christina Aguilera. Cher has two tracks and Christina has 8 tracks.

      Track 1 - Christina Aguilera - Something's Got A Hold On Me
The song is a cover of Etta James - Something Got A Hold On Me. I think that Christina Aguilera did a great job of covering the song as I think Christina has a powerful voice and its proven in her version of this song. The song remains very much like the original it still has the same jazz feel to it and it has the same lyrics that where written by Etta James. There is a version available on YouTube where both of them duet the track and the video has pictures of them together whilst they perform the song. This song is 3.06 minutes long and I think this is one of my favourite songs from the movie.
R.I.P Etta James who sadly passed in January of this year.

Track 2 - Cher - Welcome To Burlesque.
This is one of the few original songs in the movie and on the soundtrack. This song is a good song from the movie burlesque but I think because in the movie it has a really good performance with Cher that is good to watch, Its not really that good to listen to without watching the movie. However I do like the song it has violin play in the instrumental which brings the song together and makes it more listen able. It also fits the performance they do in the movie. The song is 2.45 seconds long.

Track 3 - Christina Aguilera - Tough Lover.
This is another cover of an Etta James Classic songs. The song sounds almost like the original but Christina voice makes the song sounds a little different because her voice is a little softer than Etta's. I think that Christina again did a good job of covering this song. The song is 2.00 minutes long I think this is probably my least favourite song on the soundtrack.

Track 4 - Christina Aguilera - But Im A Good Girl.
As far as im aware of this song this is and original song on the soundtrack. Did a little research and couldn't find anyone that sang this song before Christina Aguilera. I think that this song is a good song but I think again like Welcome to burlesque its not something I really listen to unless im watching the movie as it has a really good performance attached to it in the movie. The song has a jazz feel to it and is a good attempt at creating a song from a different era to now. The song is 2.29 minutes long.

Track 5 - Christina Aguilera - Guy What Takes His Time.
This song is also not an original the song is a cover of Mae West- A Guy What Takes His Time I think that the original is good but I much prefer Christina's version because its faster and more modern than the original. The did a great job of modernizing the song. I think that Christina's version has more wit and is more lively. The song is 2.43 minutes long. The song was writing by Ralph Rainger in the early 1930s which is quite along time ago to still be covered.

      Track 6 - Christina Aguilera - Express.
This was the promotional song for the movie burlesque. I think they picked the right song because out of all the songs on the album this is the most original and the most fit to this generation. The song is just about being happy, free an expressing yourself which reflects somewhat on the movie. Christina co-wrote this song with Christopher Stuart and Claude Kelly. The song is 4.40 minutes long.

Track 7 - Cher - You Haven't Seen The Last Of Me.
This song is really good i think its one of those songs you listen to when your in a bad mood and things are going wrong and listening to it keeps you motivated to carry on doing what you doing. This is certainly the way this song makes me feel when I listen to it. I think Cher has done a good job of showing people that she still has talent with this song. The song is 3.30 minutes long and was written by Diane Warren.

Track 8 - Christina Aguilera - Bound To You.
This track is also one of my favourite songs on the soundtrack. The song is really nice and peaceful but its quite depressing when i listen to it I always feel abit down after but I really enjoy listening to it. The song is about being it love for the first time and being scared because you've never felt that way before. This the longest track on the soundtrack its 4.23 minutes long.

Track 9 - Christina Aguilera - Show Me How You Burlesque.Out of all the tracks on this soundtrack this is probably the bubblist out of all of them. It plays at the end of the movie which is probably why its the most bubbly because everything turns out aright at the end of the movie.Christina co- wrote this song also with the same two people as Express. The song is 2.59 minutes long.

Track 10 - Christina Aguilera - The Beautiful People.
This is a cover of Marilyn Manson - The Beautiful People. I wasn't to keen on Marilyn Manson's original version of the song I thought it was to dark and deadly for me. Christina's Version is much better its still has a rock instrumental but her voice makes it more fun and happy which makes it more like able for me. The song is 3.31 minutes long and Marilyn Manson was one of the writers of the song. This is one of my top played songs on my iPod because when I first heard it I really loved it.

There are other songs in the movie performed at the burlesque club such as Dimonds Are A Girls Best Friend which arnt on the soundtrack. Im not sure why because Christina sings the songs in the movie. That did confuse me abit.

This soundtrack is majority covers but I think that it is a very good soundtrack and I would recommend it. I think that the soundtrack has a mixture of different types of songs which makes it better for a bigger variety of people majority of the songs are Jazzy sort of stuff but if you have watch the movie you will most definitely like the song even if Jazz is not your thing. The cover is the exact same as the movie cover with Cher on the left and Christina on the right and the title Burlesque straight down the middle in between them.

The album is available on iTunes for 6.99 or if you want a CD copy its cheaper on Amazon its 5.99.
