It also perhaps needed a few stronger tracks and possibly even a better blend of tracks. Possibly as Confucius didn't say there are only so many ways to butter bread. Some tracks are readily identifiable, "Better The Devil You Know" was a hit for Kylie and that should have been it for the song, surely not worth covering even when you have though of...more

Premium Review Buzz - Steps: Buzz (504 words)

Steps have been going for a few years now and seem to have been swamped or brushed aside by buy/girl bands who seem to get younger or have new gimmicks like being formed as part of A TV show. Their third album is Buzz and it followed on from what has been a strong period of hits including a couple of Number 1s. As is often the way with some bands you don't realise how good they are until the copycats arrive. Steps are beginning to look old in comparison with some of the newer bands and you wonder how long the energy and commitment can last. They are an undemanding middle of the road band who are extending into other TV work. Personable and untouched by scandal ...

Steps. Claire, H, Lee, Faye and Lisa are a household name particularly with anyone who has children and even some that do not! Now with a string of successful albums and singles under their belts, I finally get round to writing my opinion on Buzz the last album released. What is it about Steps that makes them better than the rest of the pre manufactured music bands of today, well they are not only attractive but seem to have kept their values even with huge success, they are very much like the girl or boy next door types, genuinely nice people on and off camera, and this comes through in the Steps charm factor. Claire Richardson has the edge on ...

When I initially heard the album I wasn't too impressed, but somehow the songs have managed to grow on me in such a huge way. I don't usually do this, but I think I will give it a song-by-song review. Here goes!: Better The Devil You Know: We all know this one, even from the Kylie days. A very chessy piece of pop, not one of my personal favourites, but it only helps the rest of the album look great with this as lead. Stomp: Steps second number1 single. I absolutley love this song, even though I didn't think it would apeal to everyone and get to number1. Well they proved me wrong."Everybody clap your hands"!!!! ...

Competent industrial, with a little something for everybody (you know, within reason). An unsettling mix, and not always in the good way.
