Soapstar Superstar
by AmyAmy - written on 15/02/09 (Very useful, 26 readings)
Rating:
Addict, I admit it! And one of my favourite things to watch on TV is soaps. I can t get enough of their gripping storylines and amazing characters! In 2006 Various soapstars took part in a reality singing contest, the winner in the final by successfully passing through a process of elimination. These stars included Wendi Peters, Andy Whyment, Shobna Gulati, Richard Fleeshman, Nicholas Bailey, Sammy Winward, Michael Greco, Gemma Atkinson, Lee Otway, Lucy Pargeter and Roxanne pallet from soaps across the channels. In the end, our successful winner was Richard Fleeshman, who played Craig Harris in Coronation Street. The stars released an album at the end of it, with ...

Now That's What I Call Music! 5
by JJJJ - written on 08/02/09 (Very useful, 219 readings)
Rating:
The 'Now That's What I Call Music!' series of compilation albums have become incredibly popular over the years, with the first one appearing way back in 1983. The first one that I owned was 'Now 5' on Vinyl from 1985 - I didn't buy it myself, as I was only around four at that time, but my sister gave it to me (somewhen between '87 - '89) when it officially became the first record I owned. Now this review isn't going to spark a whole series of 'Now' reviews by me, as Now 5 was the only one of the series I have owned - and apart from that, I have never been a fan of 'chart-music' in general - compilation CD's are things I have managed to pretty much steer clear of over the years. ...

Sex And The City - Soundtrack
by LIZS383 - written on 24/06/09 (Somewhat useful, 14 readings)
Rating:
There are some classic SATC tecks on this album and others I still totally don't recognise! The CD was released in 2008 - there have been other SATC sound track discs, however this was conveniently timed to coincide with the movie coming out - hoping to gain some easy sales? As may be expected most of the 13 tracks have quite ...

Youth Novels - Lykke Li
Some truly catchy pop songs, Li's gorgeous voice, simplistic production works effectively
Some pleasant enough but unmemorable tracks, Li's irritating wailing on "Time Flies"
The Week That Was - The Week That Was
A very strong Debút album, with subtle musical nods to Field Music.
Might be slightly too 'challenging ' for some people.
Two Pages - 4hero
Double bass, strings and intricate beats combine with sweet vocals to create beautiful tunes
Cheesy, electronic sci - fi DnB tracks ruin the feel
Shadows In The Light - Immolation
Booming vocals to match the strong messages
Well, it's death metal so there are limits to how much you can listen to and who likes it!
Very Best Of - Girlschool
People having fun, catchy guitar solos, decent vocals
None really!
Witch Of Berkeley Live - A II Z
Lots of classic tunes
Shame this is the band's only real album
Essential Sins - Bitches Sin
Couple of decent guitar solos
Largely disappointing
Miasma - Black Dahlia Murder
Pleasing for death metal fans
Not enough variation
Total Metal: The Neat Anthology - Atomkraft
Groundbreaking stuff for the time
Not as good as artists who would go on to be influenced by them
