Advantages: Deffinately one for the car
Disadvantages: Looses pace towards the end
I think I know you all well enough by now to be nothing but totally honest with you. I have never claimed to be a fan of the Red hot chili peppers. Don't ask me why, they are just one of those bands that I new existed through hearing their singles but had never been bold enough to go out and buy one of there albumns. Listening to a friends copy of Californication for the first time, I was convinced it was going to be an unpleasant experience. Little did I know that it would be the first Chili peppers albumn I own. It's now been played so much that even my cat has started singing along (although air guitar is some way off!) The thing with Californication is that the songs are really good. Catchy tunes that will be stuck in your head for days. Around the World sets the standard but just wait until you get to the title track, arguably the highlight. Scar Tissue confirms that they do write great ballads and this is no exception. There's loads of funk as well, I like Dirt being the best example proving that Flea is a genius on the Bass. They loose a bit of pace towards the end, Purple Stain is a bit irritating but you've got fifteen tracks on here so one weaker song is not the end of the world. Besides you can always skip back to the begining and do it all again, the cat will love you for it!
