Cryptic Writings - Megadeth
by Frankingsteins - written on 29/06/07 (Very useful, 89 readings)
Rating:
album, something that continues in the very Megadeth-sounding ‘The Disintegrators.’ This shorter piece is the fastest on the album so far, lacking some of the volume and power of early Megadeth but still generating enough energy in the fast delivery of the chorus that Mustaine occasionally forgets to shout along in time. Even if it fades from memory after the disc is ejected, this song will at least, perhaps, cause the listener to think ‘there was quite a good fast one somewhere around track five.’ ‘I’ll Get Even’ returns to pop territory a little, with the most obvious ‘beat’ of the album and a slow, sing-along chorus, but for once it’s done exactly right. Youthanasia: Remastered & Expanded - Megadeth
by sparksteroid - written on 01/02/08 (Useful, 20 readings)
Rating:
This seems to be somewhat of an unusual style for Dave Mustaine and his friends and the band seem to have gone for a less metallic and thrashy sound for something a bit more melodic and meaningful. Reckoning Days pounds its way into your ears with thunderous atmospheric drums and oddly tuneful guitar riffs that fill the track up with ...

So Far So Good So What: Remastered & Expanded - Megadeth
by Jakeball - written on 01/05/03 (Very useful, 126 readings)
Rating:
shite spread a big, cheesy, shit eating grin across my face. Probably because this is a big, cheesy, shit eating album. In case you didn't know, Megadeth are a pioneering 80's thrash band. Singer/guitarist and all round cheesemeister Dave Mustaine was once in Metallica (before they even released an album). He got fired and formed Megadeth. The singing is (for the most part) terrible in a way that only 80's thrash can be (if you've heard any early Anthrax stuff then you'll know what I mean). Dave Mustaine half screeches his way through most of the songs in a semi tuneful manner. It's not pretty, though (again if you've heard Anthrax) ...

Play - Doug E. Fresh
Hip-Hop & Rap - East Coast - 1995
Tales Of Mystery And Imagination - The Alan Parsons Project
A varied and well-produced concept album.
Fails to capture the spirit of Poe's works.
Rebirth - Jennifer Lopez
World Music - Cuban & Latin - 2005
Into The Mourning - All Soul's Day
Decent enough imitation of the Candlemass sound, with the atmosphere of a frozen cathedral.
Overlong and lacking in imagination. There's also a rubbish hidden song that destroys the mood.
Lovejunk - The Refugees
a hybrid of pop tunes and rock attitude
none
Watching From a Distance - Warning
Unparalleled despair.
Repetitive and mood-specific, and hard to find.
Clock Me Jesus - Abitbollus
Some interesting ideas, and the whole thing is brimming with arguably misplaced enthusiasm.
Weak drum machine, uninspired music and far too much emphasis on spoken word interludes.
Grandes Exitos - Shakira
Good choice of tracks
Newer fans may not enjoy it so much
Lords Of The Underground
Compilation - 1998
Tomorrow Will Never Come - Agalloch
Another nice acoustic song from Don Anderson.
A pointless remix, and a pointlessly obscure release in general.
