This is probably one of the strangest and cheesiest albums i have every come across and has actually managed to get a ten hour version uploaded to youtube which has split people just like Justin Bieber did, its a marmite love it or hate it thing. Me personally? I love it to bits.
The tracks are split into different languages with Swedish being the original and the English being the edit, followed by a karaoke edit, although i wouldn't dare join in if this was at a karaoke because as a grown man i would find it rather embarrassing and i will no doubt end up on Youtube. I therefore thing this is more for the children, this is something teenagers, girls in particular will enjoy.
You don't have to be young to enjoy it but it does come off with a very feminine vibe in the music video, and children would be happy with the cheesy lyrics.
The genre's are pretty much hard dance, euro pop, electronic etc, with all the songs being around 140-150 BPM so quite fast for house music but around the right BPM for hard dance, especially with those euphoric strings in the background.
The vocals are very high pitched and there is absolutely no way such vocals could have been produced naturally, they sound slightly digitalised and they seem to have a very sharp tone in the chorus.
The Ryu remix is very fast and sounds quite out of place to me and i didn't enjoy this track at all. The chorus is edited too much so the lyrics are pointless and it just becomes a cacophony of noise and vocal loop samples.
The music video is used for all language versions and is actually quite cheesy too. The caramella girls dance around on what seems to be an endless disco floor with lights and a ceiling that appears to be about 1 inch away from their heads. The anime used has a very japanese feel to it with the wide eyed characters and (a dead giveaway right here) japanese writing.
Overall this is a pretty cheesy and funny meme and is a good gimmick that picked up a lot of views on youTube and no doubt made lots of money in sales but this is aimed at a more younger audience, and i think girls will enjoy it more than boys. having said that i am a grown man and quite enjoyed this album...
