Funeral For A Friend are a quintet from South Wales and provide their own take on intelligent, Emotional Hardcore. The songs are well structured, with everything carefully thought through, and all elements of their music fitting together with absolute perfection, from the clear, undistorted vocals right down to the clean guitars and drum beats. Their sound is well produced and this is no major surprise considering the fact that they are signed to Warner. The 'Casually Dressed and Deep In Conversation' album is an intensely emotional affair with the band really putting their heart in to it, but at the same time it also has a great power to it with the vocals coming firing ... Funeral For A Friend: Casually Dressed And In Deep Conversation: I loved this album but Im only allowed to listen to it when I am listening to my ipod with my headphones in because my mum and dad can't stand it. Rookie of the year: Amazing lyrics and guitar tune. I have listened to this id say about 40 times in the last 3 days because I just let the song play itself over and over. Bullet Theory: this one has a bit of screaming in it but that just made the song excellent. Juneau: I love the start of this song with the little guitar tune it really caught my attention. Bend your arms to look like wings: Another amazing ... Read the complete review

Having just been crowned 'Best British Band' at the 2005 Kerrang Awards, I thought it about time to revisit an old favourite of mine, Funeral For A Friends' 2003 full length debut, Casually Dressed & Deep In Conversation. Having surfaced on the British rock scene in early 2003, the Welsh rockers unleashed their debut full length on the public around October time, and it was quickly lapped up by both Q, and Kerrang magazine - both branding them the finest British rock outfit in some considerable time. Yet, as is generally the norm, one week you're the press' darlings, next you're the latest sell out in the mainstream scene; therefore Matt Davies and his bandmates did ... Read the complete review

**THE BAND** Funeral For A Friend are a Welsh emo/metal band from Bridgend, South Wales. Their style has changed over the years though not dramatically, showing that they are not afraid to take on a challenge! In the early FFAF days they were a heavy metal band providing emotional lyrics and screaming mosh pit anthems. Now, the band have moved in a different direction where there is a lot more singing rather than screaming but still with the same thought provoking lyrics. Funeral For A Friend have dipped in and out of the mainstream for several years never outstaying their welcome an always returning in style with a fresh new sound, who ever said that change was a ... I must confess that when I heard this album over 4 years ago I was not at all impressed. Indeed, it's one of the only CDs I've bought that I considered returning. How things change. I would now confidently rank this as one of my favourite albums in my collection. It's consistent, high energy rock. I'm led to believe that the band themselves prefer not to label themselves as "emo" or any other such sub-genre. They play what they feel. And what they play is precise, expertly harmonised, rhythmically challenging and brimming with a kind of electric charge. Not a single song on this album deserves skipping. From the "all guns ...
