Courtney Love writes most of the songs and her influences are still obvious. Indeed this is not the album to purchase if you need cheering up, the lyrics, whilst always
performed well are distinctly depressing (‘Love hangs herself’), and will probably hasten your progress along the suicidal path.

The music has a strong rock basis and is very easy to get into with the varied but often strained vocals. There is almighty rock in the form of 'Celebrity Skin', 'Use Once & Destroy' and 'Reason’s To Be Beautiful' and this is mixed with hauntingly great tunes like 'Dying' and 'Malibu'.

I really like this album and believe it when I say it’s a tremendous step forward and to quote the intense Playing Your Song, ‘It’s... Wonderful!’
