Advantages: Much mellower than the early stuff

Disadvantages: I can't remember half the tracks on the album!

In response to the other opinions which have been written about this album (generally along the lines of "Hole sold there soul to sell some records"), I have to stand up and say it ain't that bad!

Now I've got a few of the earlier Hole albums and I thought that they were terrible compared to Celebrity skin. Back in those days Hole was more of a vehicle for Courtney Love to have a bitch about how awful her life is, so as far as I am concerned a little watering down is a good thing! Granted the tunes on this CD are a little lacking in the emotional content, but at least its easier to relate to that way...

Anyway. The album itself has a pop/rock sort of feel, ranging for gratuitous excuses for riffing down to mellower acoustic tunes. Tracks to look out for include Celebrity skin, Awful, Malibu (probably the best on the album), Northern star and Petals. The other tracks are good, but they are pretty forgettable.

For all the albums faults, it does end up in my CD player an awful lot, so it can't be that bad!
