About the artist Enya began her musical career in 1980, when she briefly joined her family band 'Clannad', before leaving to pursue her solo career. Enya became known for her unique sound, which was characterised by voice-layering, folk melodies and synthesized backing tracks. Enya was the world's biggest selling female artist of 2001 and is Ireland's best selling solo artist (sorry Ronan) and she is officially the country's second largest musical export after U2. To date Enya's album sales stand at aprox 70 million. Enya is also one of the most 'sampled' artists by other soloists and bands. I personally believe that Enya has an excellent voice ... This debut album by Enya is the music that provided all the feel and atmosphere to a fantastic TV series called “The Celts”, the sort of programme that only the BBC can do. This is also the series that made Michael Wood a household name. The album is a true delight and is my favourite of all the albums by Enya. I don’t recall any of the tracks being released as singles so it may have slipped people by. If it did then give it a try. It is really excellent. ... Read the complete review

Enya's debut release, initially entitled Enya criminally went unnoticed for many years, and it was only once her follow up Watermark LP hit store shelves that people took note of it. Her debut album finally did get a re-release in 1992 under the title The Celts, which was the name of the BBC series for which the music was written. Thankfully by this time, the album had finally gotten the recognition it, and Enya deserved. The smooth transition between the various tracks, and floating instrumental passages coupled with gentle vocal harmonies and piercing keyboard notes makes for a brilliant album with a great deal of depth. Because the whole ... Read the complete review

This is a quite nice but short and simple CD from Enya feautring some good songs. I actually own the original issue from the BBC TV Celts TV series. Enya has very lush vocals and although the songs aren't as bouncy or upbeat as say Orinoco Flow they're still good to listen to and nice and relaxing. My favourites would be March of the Celts, with the nice deep trombone mixed with Enya's high vocals, Aldebaran with its harp melodies and I Want Tomorrow, possibly the dreamiest song I have ever heard and this is a quite unique one as it is only one of two Enya songs to feature the electric guitar and I must say I think I works very very well giving the ... I have always loved Enya's music and this album is no exception. I spend many minutes staring at the wonderful cover where she languishes in a corner in a big coat, looking lost and ethereal. The tracks on this early album showcase Enya at her very best. The Celts is stirring and magical and makes you want to embark on a long journey into the woods to gather sticks and leaves. I Want Tomorrow is haunting and creepy and one of Enya's more tender moments. One of the best tracks has to be To Go Beyond, which is spellbinding and sounds like it was created many centuries ago. There is something for everyone on this album, but Enya enthusiasts will relish it for the ... Read the complete review

When Fire Rains Down From The Sky Mankind Will Reap As It Has Sown - Anaal Nathrakh
Great vocals and more attention to detail.
Still sounds mechanical and repetitive.
Total Fucking Necro - Anaal Nathrakh
Easily affordable way to own the band's demos, a great supplement to the first album.
Not as sophisticated as a "proper" album.
The Machinery Of Oblivion - Arcane Order
Aggressive death metal without sounding forced.
Clearly derivative of Gothenburg bands.
Silent Waters - Amorphis
Some good melodical riffs
Too wet
Rebirth - Angra
Fresh blood revitalises a great band.
Pales in comparison to other releases.
Lost In Space: Vol. 2 - Tobias Sammet's Avantasia
Good vocals.
More of the same, and the same wasn't that good.
Hunters And Prey - Angra
Heavy Metal - 2002
Eschaton - Anaal Nathrakh
Perfect blending of the finest elements from the previous albums.
Still doesn't really move forwards, and industrial edge is more irritating than ever.
Domine Non Es Dignus - Anaal Nathrakh
The best elements carry over from the previous E.P.
Less extreme and disappointingly clinical.
Codex Necro - Anaal Nathrakh
Insanely good vocals, excellent riffs, great song structures, very atmospheric, varied.
Not for the fainthearted!
