Michael Ball's latest album, 'Centre Stage' is a must buy for fans of the man and musicals alike. The album consists of 14 songs from 13 different shows such as 'Phantom of the Opera', 'Riverdance' and 'Les Miserables' and was co-produced by the singer. Michael Ball has a wonderful melodious voice very suited to musical theatre and he does a great job of belting out the songs on the album with feeling. The CD comes with the usual booklet of photographs and song lyrics, the latter especially useful for those karaoke moments we all succumb to from time to time. I went to the second of Michael Ball's London concerts at The Royal Albert Hall. Although I am not a fan I accomanied my daughter who is. The concert was fast paced & contained a lot of songs from his new album to be released 30/10/00. The songs he sang were a mixture of new material, numbers from the musicals, ballads & songs he personaly liked. The numbers he sang from the musicals were the best, I appreciate the depth & range of his voice & feel that it is wasted on some of the songs he sings The audience was on the whole made up of real fans, which left me feeling a bit of a fraud.
