Change is the first full album after the departure of original band member Mutya Buena in which Amelle joins Keisha and Heidi on vocals, adding an exciting new slant to the band. The slightly new angle that they have taken in this album seems to have worked wonders for them in what I would say is my favorite album of all the sugababes releases to date. 1. About You Now 2. Never Gonna Dance Again 3. Denial 4. My Love Is Pink 5. Change 6. Back When 7. Surprise 8. Back Down 9. Mended By You 10. 3 Spoons Of Suga 11. Open The Door 12. When Mutya Buena left the hugely-successful British girl group Sugababes in December 2005, their future looked to be in crisis. Although a new member, former backing singer Amelle Barrabah, was drafted in, an album campaign was in full swing and the damage might have been irrepairable. Thankfully Amelle proved to be a more-than worthy replacement for Buena, so much so that, whilst splitting opinion amongst Mutya's few devotees, she is widely-liked by most Suga fans and by the British public. Change, released in October 2007, is the girls' first full-length album with Amelle, after she re-recorded a handful of songs from previous studio outing Taller In More ... Read the complete review

The Sugababes are one of those groups that I've always had a quiet enjoyment of, but never enough to really become a fan. After all, a little like the Beatles and the Rolling Stones back in the 1960s, it seems you could either be a fan of the Sugababes or Girls Aloud but not both and my colours have been firmly pinned to the Girls Aloud mast for some time. Except in the case of the recent version of "Walk This Way" they combined to do for Comic Relief, at which point I wanted to kill them all. My girlfriend sees things the other way around, however, and when it was announced that the Sugababes were coming to town as part of their "Change" ... Read the complete review

Sugababes are the only band in my belief that could surivive so many band member changes either that or Keisha just driving people away since she is the only original member. The Sugababes can be regarded as ONE OF the biggest girl groups in the last ten years in the UK. They are up there with Spice Girls and Girls Aloud. Lets get this over with, Girls Aloud and Sugababes are as successful as each other, but in my opinion Girls Aloud are just a cut above the Sugababes in that they have had more top 10 hits, but the Sugababes sell more albums. That was the case with this album but only by a mere 50,000 copies but recently Girls Aloud are selling out Sugababes by 400% ... Read the complete review

The Sugababes entered a stage of 'make or break' when releasing this album. After the departure of one of the group's founder members Mutya Buena in late 2005, the band's lineup changed for the third time adding Amelle to the group. I myself at the time doubted if they'd be able to bounce back from Mutya's departure but the girls manage so with ease as demonstrated on their 5th studio album. Taking a more poppy route than their previous records that had a lot of RNB influences this album is a breath of fresh of air, one that the pop world sorely needs and once again puts them miles ahead of their rivals Girls Aloud. Sugababes albums do ... Read the complete review
