There's nothing original or groundbreaking about these songs, and that's just the way it should be. Cryonic Temple are content to sit in the shadow of their predecessors, with Iron Maiden style guitars, Grave Digger style wailing vocals from Glen Metal (perhaps not his real name) and anthemic choruses taken straight from Judas Priest, and all the songs sound pretty much the same which keeps it from being a stand-o...more |

Sweden's Cryonic Temple are keeping the spirit of heavy metal alive, perhaps a little too self-consciously for their own good. Their debut album opens with two consecutive anthems celebrating the glory of metal in true Manowar style, and with lyrics like "men or women, black or white, together we rock," you know this is going to be something of a cheese-fest, which will either attract or repel listeners depending on their orientation. Some great modern progressive thrash. 
Sounds exactly the same as Nevermore. Good music, wide appeal Start and enda bit pop-y and over-produced? Some good old tunes... Some naff dated ones... An excellent rock album, fantastic from start to finish. Some may be put off by the musical change in direction that Avenged Sevenfold took here. Average Swedish death metal. Atmospheric, good vocal harmony (yay !), some tracks co - written by the guys, plenty of tracks A bit cheesy, takes a few listens to really 'get into' it (but its great after that!)
