Cheers is the debut album from Detroit rapper Obie Trice, released in 2003. The story goes that someone close to Eminem heard Obie freestyling and brought him to meet him. Talk about luck! From the first time I heard his debut single 'Got some teeth' I was instantly a fan. The line "Okie dokie Obie's here..." was stuck in my head for weeks. So simple but it easily stated that he had indeed arrived on the larger musical scene. Cheers I thought was an underrated album, much in the same way that Obie Trice himself seems to be. 'Cheers' is the 2003 debut album from Detroit rapper Obie Trice, released on Eminem's Shady Records. Trice chose the name Cheers for different reasons, as an announcement of his success, the fact the man loves a drink, plus the logo is designed the same as the long running TV show 'Cheers'. The album spawned the three singles, 'Got Some Teeth', 'The Set Up', and 'Don't Come down', as well as the diss tracks 'Sh*t Hit's the Fan', 'We All Die One Day', and 'Outro'.
