... genre type and it features 16 all very good but short tracks. Just like any other Blink 182 album I have listened to I really did find it to be vibrant and exciting to listen to. Of course considering it is Blink 182 the guitar riffs and drumming featured in many of these tracks is simply outstanding. I really thought the album cover also looked really cool and it is definately something different! The album contains hits such as Carousel and M+Ms which are great songs. This leads me on to say that many of the songs in...more

Premium Review Cheshire Cat - blink-182: I am Their Willing Slave..... (1149 words)

Blink 182....my favourite band in the entire world....at times i have doubted punk's credibility, but in the end i have, and will, always come back to it....it is uplifting...it is different....it is punk..... Blink 182 in particular are a great example of punk. Not so much by their newer albums, but most definetely by their older albums. Cheshire Cat, Dude Ranch, and later on the re-issue of Buddha, all stand out as great punk albums of the nineties. And rightly so, of course. I mean the guitars are fast, the drumming chomping and the lyrics, funny as hell. That is, to me, what punk is all about. I mean it may have changed, with a lot of bands taking a new ...  Read the complete review

Blink-182, despite the pop-punk material after they hit the big time with "All The Small Things", were once a punk-rock band. In my opinion they always will be the latter, and although the newest studio album "Enema Of The State" doesn't really reflect this adequately, their back catalogue ("Buddha", "Cheshire Cat" and "Dude Ranch", with even the live album "The Mark, Tom and Travis Show") almost certainly do. Their first "album" "Buddha", was not even a "proper" album at all; and so this accolade falls to 1994's "Cheshire Cat". As you might expect, nobody ...  Read the complete review

Ceshire Cat by Blink 182 really is an excellent album, it was originally released in February 1994. I found the album to be very similar to other album's by Blink 182 in that it was evidently their distinctive punk rock style of music. I really do like this album and I would really recommend it to all. I bought it for around £10 from Virgin but now you can get it for £6.50 from Amazon which is a very good price. As I have said the album is punk rock in genre type and it features 16 all very good but short tracks. Premium Review Blink's best (146 words)

This is blinks debut proper album and in my opinion, they have yet to surpass it. It was the first blink album i got, about 2 years ago, and i can honestly say i've listened to it often and regularly since. i think it's got some great poppy songs that are ace to dance to, and also some nice little emotional songs. If you just bought "Enema of the State" off the back of "all the small things" you'll get a surprise when you hear this. The recording quality is a bit ropey but if you're into punk then i guess that's not gonna hold you back. If you don't jump for it first listen, give it a bit of time and a few more plays and see if ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Cheshire Cat - blink-182: Raw Blink at its best (257 words)
by - written on 04/11/00 (Useful, 84 readings)

Cheshire Cat, released in 1994, encorporates the best of the Blink attitude to growing up and short, fast paced songs which beg to be played again. This album combines the best of Buddha (the band's first album), songs such as Strings and TV, with the newer gems of M+Ms and Peggy Sue. The fast pace of Sometimes versus the slower Romeo and Rebecca makes this album diffrent an interesting. I think that the best song on the album has to be Wasting Time, a song about thinking about a girl who you have a crush on. Highlights: Carousel M+M's Touchdown Boy Strings Peggy Sue Cacophony Wasting Time ...  Read the complete review
