Advantages: MY WAY AND ROLLIN'
Disadvantages: AGGRESSIVE MUSIC MAINLY
CHOCOLATE STARFISH AND THE HOT DOG FLAVOURED WATER is a hard hitting album from LIMP BIZKIT.
The CD contains 15 songs which are mostly hard rock though there are the occasional slower tracks.
The best track on the album is MY WAY. It is quite a slow track until the chorus which comes to life. To me this is a very underated song.
There are two versions of ROLLIN' on the album one faster than the other. ROLLIN' is probably the band's most famous song and is fast paced and full of energy that you just have to head bang to it.
I like MY GENERATION which has great lyrics about today's genearation.
TAKE A LOOK AROUND is quite a slow paced song from the band, though packs a punch towards the end.
GETCHA GROOVE ON is another track that you can really feel the enrgy from the guitars and drums.
Fred Durst's unique vocals are best heard in THE ONE as his voice brings the song to life.
IT'LL BE OK also has great vocals and shows that LIMP BIZKIT can write great music and slower tracks.
LIVIN' IT UP is a good song where the lyrics are matched by the powerful music.
BOILER and FULL NELSON are a bit too aggressive for my liking and the lyrics really have no meaning.
HOT DOG AND HOLD ON are good songs, though nothing more than album filler.
The album starts with an intro and ends with an outro which in my opinion is pointless as it adds nothing to the music.
Don't be put off by the vulgar album cover, or the fact there is a great amount of swearing on the album.
The music in general is pretty decent and Fred Durst is an exceptional front man.
The ballads are pretty good, though only buy the album if you like hard rock music.
Summary: LIMP BIZKIT GAINS STRENGTH!
