Sound And Vision - David Bowie

Rating:
Sound and Vision David Bowie I thought Id review the new David Bowie boxed set “Sound and Vision. The box is a rectangle 4x16 inches with a clear plastic sheath and a purple picture of Bowie at the front with guitar. This box set was first released as a 3-disc box and has many rare tracks., but it now has an extra fourth disc The actual box is silver with a plain white cardboard inlay. The package of the actual discs is very attractive, but very delicate. Plastic sleeves that could rip very easily hold the discs. Boxes in purple on the sleeves tell you the track listing. 4 postcards come with the box they are a fancy colourful one with pictures from ...

Tonight - David Bowie

Rating:
First, we must examining the very face he was wearing when he decided on the material to make up this album. Do we really know who the real David Bowie is just from listening to his music? As for this album, we must remember that this did, after all, reach number one in the album chart following its release on the 6 October 1984. And it did stay for 19 weeks in total. Surely this is not the mark of a completely awful album. It must be then praised for this artist’s ability to accept the changing music of his contemparies around him. Of course, its not The Spiders From Mars, and we would be fools to enter this debate with this in mind, so, we examine and listen with ...

Tonight - David Bowie

Rating:
This was David Bowie s follow-up to the huge-selling "Lets Dance" and it was originally released in 1984. It is one of his weakest albums, no sorry make that THE weakest album, made up of tracks not good enough to get picked for "Let s Dance", awful cover versions, and to add insult to injury, DB plunders the vaults for the songs co-written with Iggy Pop from 1977 s "The Idiot". Whilst this worked beautifully on "Lets Dance" (China Girl was of course that song), the ones on here pale into nothingness compared to that. Mere words alone cannot describe how terrible this album is, and yet it starts off brilliantly with the ...

Post To Wire - Richmond Fontaine
Well-crafted songs telling poignant tales; great musicianship; evocative pedal steel
None to speak of
If Emotions Still Burn - Ablaze My Sorrow
A pleasant surplus of lead guitar melodies balanced out with some angry death metal.
Overly repetitive, and too similar to Dark Tranquillity and others to truly stand out.
Fur And Gold - Bat For Lashes
A completely unique experience, Natasha Khan is a talented lady!
Might be too avant-garde for many people.
Every Second Counts - Plain White T's
Hey There Delilah is a classic song
Could be longer
Drastic Fantastic - KT Tunstall
Some of the quieter songs are amazing
Not a collection you'll fall in love with, but still might enjoy
Dominate - Adagio
Competent and enjoyable progressive power metal.
A couple of terrible songs, and far too derivative of Symphony X.
Beyond The Neighbourhood - Athlete
Pop Rock - 2007
Awkward Annie - Kate Rusby
an excellent album, lots of lovely songs
that one track with the dodgy harmonies
All The Lost Souls - James Blunt
A quality album from start to finish - Absolutely Brilliant!
Short album that can be heard in less than 40 mins
Mi Sueno - Ibrahim Ferrer
Ferrer's beautiful voice, simple arrangements
None at all
