Danzig is the first release by the band Danzig lead by former misfits frontman Glenn Danzig. The line up for this band is all follows: Glenn Danzig - Vocals, Lyrics (Misfits, Samhain) Eerie Von - Bass (Samhain) John Christ - Guitar (Samhain) Chuck Biscuits - Guitar (Black Flag) 00 Glenn 00 If you already havent heard of Glenn he is the very talented singer of the famous and incredibly influential late 70s/80s punk band called The Misfits. He has a powerful voice that carries a sort of Mississippi Delta/New Orleans twang, which complements the bluesy feel to the songs. He's an interesting and original, songwriter, most ofthe songs seeming to ...

When Glenn Danzig decided to depart from the Misfits in the mid '80's, he went on to explore his dark side further in the band Samhain. In 1988, Samhain performed a transmutation into the dark metal band, Danzig. Featuring Glenn Danzig on vocals, John Christ on guitar, Eerie Von on bass and punk legend Chuck Biscuits on drums, Danzig was a unique sounding, evil band. Taking metal music to a whole new level, this record released on Def American records and produced by Rick Rubin, is an attestation to Danzig's greatness. Glenn's voice is what I like to term 'The Evil Elvis'. His voice is strong, a pure, and is very reminiscent of musicians ...

good thing. Danzig do not slot easy into any kind of category, and love them or hate them, you have to admire that. Maybe a close description would be to take some Elvis, mix in a little Morrison, a splash of Sabbath and a pinch of Zepppelin. Then again, maybe not. This album, like most of theirs, is not fantastic, but it ...

More accessible. Watered down.

Hard rock to the full None

Effective horror atmosphere, great guitar performance. Weak production and few instantly memorable songs.

Tales Of Mystery And Imagination - The Alan Parsons Project
A varied and well-produced concept album. Fails to capture the spirit of Poe's works.

Into The Mourning - All Soul's Day
Decent enough imitation of the Candlemass sound, with the atmosphere of a frozen cathedral. Overlong and lacking in imagination. There's also a rubbish hidden song that destroys the mood.

Lovejunk - The Refugees
a hybrid of pop tunes and rock attitude none

Wigand - Adorned Brood
Interesting and dogmatic take on the folk metal genre. Becomes repetitive and dull fairly quickly, winding up discordant more often than harmonious.

Christ Illusion - Slayer

B-day
Great vocals, full of good tracks Beyoncé just didn't seem to push the envelope enough - the album lacks depth
