Premium Review Clash On Broadway - The Clash: Excellent collection (424 words)
by - written on 17/02/09 (Very useful, 35 readings)
Rating:

Presented in a nice slipcase with tons of liner notes to skim through, this collection is well worth the £15 you're likely to find it selling for. The first disc documents their early days of punk with a few of their early demos, like "Janie Jones", as well as live versions of the ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

Put quite simply, if you want to have practically the whole catalogue of Joe Strummer and Mick Jones' work, you should buy this album. Each CD deals with the three distinct stages of the Clash's career, and is a tribute to their longevity compared to their contemporary acts. CD 1 is what they began with, the agression of 77-style punk, and their first flirtations with reggae. The whole of their debut album is contained on this CD, along with favourites like 'Complete Control', ...  Read the complete review
