Let The Rhythm Hit 'em - Eric B & Rakim
by XICripZ - written on 02/01/09 (Very useful, 91 readings)
Rating:
"Let the Rhythm Hit Em" is the third album from the groundbreaking duo of Hip Hop artists known as Eric B. & Rakim. The master producer Eric B. once again teams up with one of the greatest lyricists ever, for this 1990 album. 1. "Let The Rhythm Hit Em" As the title track and opener to this album, I found it to be a little less impressive than expected, however it is still a big track for the pair. You get them coming out with the same sort of thing you heard on their last one, "Follow The Leader" with amazing MCing, but with a lack of samples within the production (which made there debut so significant). Four Stars 2. "No ...

Follow The Leader - Eric B & Rakim
by XICripZ - written on 23/10/08 (Very useful, 91 readings)
Rating:
beatbox and some synth. Four Stars 8. "No Competition" Here you have Rakim doing some more hardcore rhymes as he works on the breakbeat production by Eric B. The decision to go for a type of beat whuich has no Funk or Old School samples makes a difference, and the scratches by Eric B seem to supplement it all. Four Stars 9. "The R" Initially, I thought that this one was another instrumental piece by Eric B and his own, however after a long instrumental introduction; you receive some exciting MCing from "The R". Rakim manages to show how powerful his words are as he messing around with language so much in this one, you are able to see ...

Don't Sweat The Technique - Eric B & Rakim
by XICripZ - written on 08/04/09 (Very useful, 87 readings)
Rating:
came out in 1992, and was named after one of the big singles from the album. It came as the final album from the legendary New York Hip Hop duo Eric B. & Rakim parted ways, and so in a final effort would push out one last killer release to keep fans happy before pursuing solo careers. 1. What s On Your Mind?" To open the album, you have Rakim doing something which he tried out for the first time on the album prior to this as h adapts his rhymes to very different themes as this one is dedicated to a grl who he spots whilst on the subway, and he lets his rhythmic storytelling ability take over from this point onwards. The Isley Brother-esque feel to the grooves ...

Worm Infested - Cannibal Corpse
A couple of songs that could be considered good by Cannibal Corpse standards.
Below-par cover songs.
Xenosapien - Cephalic Carnage
Continues to experiment.
Failed experiments and boring non-experiments.
Kill - Cannibal Corpse
Loud.
Yawn.
Elliot Minor - Elliot Minor
all good music
i cant think of any
Bloodthirst - Cannibal Corpse
Improved production, consistent.
Does nothing the previous albums didn't.
Lovecraft And Witchhearts - Cradle Of Filth
Some of the band's better songs.
An arbitrary and lifeless collection.
