Concerto Suite, Op.1 - Malmsteen:
... treatment, making the concerto become slightly repetitive in style near the conclusion, though to not any great detriment.
The opening "Icarus Dream Fanfare" is a great opening that presents the work's credentials with no uncertain terms with its epic orchestral sweeps, the darkly storming takes on basic baroque chord progressions and the unrelenting virtuoso guitar work that works very well as a solois... O mio babbino caro: Famous Soprano Arias from Italian Opera ... be somewhat familiar. This 1851 opera has a powerful dramatic theme to it. La mamma morta.(Mother dead) Andrea Chenier by Umberto Giordano is set in the French revolution and Maddelena tells of her mother's death and the loss of the family chateau Vissi darte( I lived for art, I lived for love). Tosca , Puccini's opera and heroine Ah fors e lui (Ah perhaps it is him my heart desires) Verdi's La Traviata was first aired in Venice in 1853 and was not very successful. It is such a famous opera these days that it is hard to believe that it initially failed. Violetta meets Alfredo for the first time and wonders if she has found true love. Violetta ultimately dies as do... Read the full review: Top of the pops it aint. by eiley123 |

Mendelssohn: Symphonies - Claudio Abbado ... writing it with any regularity until some ten years later, finally finishing it in 1842. Structurally it is his most ambitious symphony and was from the outset planned to be performed without breaks between the movements, though I have yet to hear a recording that truly plays the movements without discernible pauses. I must say that this is a very fine work (my favourite of the symphonies), even though it has a tendency to be a little too striving towards being an epic work that expands its material a little too far at times. But this is a small criticism as it does offer some of the most romantic writing Mendelssohn ever managed to put down, beginning with the vi... Romanza - Andrea Bocelli ... love for you in real life. Andrea lets out a haunting echo just before the second chorus, which for me is one of the most wonderful and beautiful moments of the piece. Lyrics include: Here where the sea sparkles, and the wind is strong, on the crumbling terrace before the gulf of Sorrento a man holds a girl, and the song begins again. Macchine Da Guerra (War Machines) is a song I really can't get the feeling up for. One of the weak links of the album for me, it seems to be about how real life can shatter your illusions and destroy relationships. I just found that on this track the music and vocals didn't blend well, and that for a song with this title, it seemed a litt... Read the full review: Music for Romance by thehonesttruth |
