The second album by Canadian alt rockers Our Lady Peace showed a definate change in style for the band but in the process lost none of the originality or song writing ability shown on there debut album 'Naveed'.
The prog rock stylings of there debut are replced here by a more modern alt rock aproach occasionally apping the stylings of the Smashing Pumkins (Raine Maidas voice even sounds a bit like that of Billy Corgan here, all be it with a much more impressive range).
The most important thing to note here though is the overall quality of the songs on offer. The distinctive accousic riff of 'Supermans Daed kicks things off here and the quality doesn't dip throughout with particular standouts beingthe emotional singalong of '4am' the bizarly melodic 'Automatic Flowers' and the Pitch perfect pop rock of 'Clumsy' all rounded off by the depressing but sublime 'Car Crash'.
This is an album full of great alt rock that any fans of the genre should check oyut but the scary thing is thats it's not even one of the bands better albums.
